Principal

John Riester is a former Director of Customer Insights and Research for Wellpoint, Inc., one of the nation's largest healthcare insurance carriers. In this role, John was responsible for custom research support for Wellpoint's 14-state Local Group and Anthem National Accounts business.

For 18 years, John has provided custom research to a number of healthcare clients in the hospital, medical device, pharmaceutical, provider, and healthcare insurance industries, including many FORTUNE 500 companies. With his broad array of healthcare industry research experience and extensive experience with a leading healthcare insurance carrier, John understands the challenges of the overall industry, the challenges of sectors within the industry, and how they all fit together.

Prior to his career in marketing research, John was Publisher for a major hospital management company, handling their proprietary publishing program. He has also been an Editorial (new product acquisition and development) executive in the publishing industry, with his last position as Editor-in-Chief at a major New York-based publisher. His background on the client side of the business and vast business experience at an executive level add strategic insights to findings.

John will personally work closely with you to design, develop, implement, analyze, and report findings for your studies – all aspects from start to finish. He handles all aspects of your study personally, not handing any part of it off to people less experienced or less immersed in your study. He employs unique and tested tools and techniques to creatively facilitate sessions and in-depth interviews, leading to findings that are robust and actionable. He also applies his vast experience and expertise to add recommendations for action. Over the years, he has developed an extensive network of recruiting services and facilities, and he personally coordinates all recruiting and does all moderating.

John holds an MBA and is actively involved with charity work, including extensive Board work for The Salvation Army in Cincinnati, OH. As a Board member of The Salvation Army, he developed and recruited the first-ever Advisory Board of Young Professionals for The Salvation Army in the United States.
